Our team values counselling that is unique to each individual and family. We approach each individual from an ethical and culturally humble approach knowing each life is so different! The methods we use are intentially integrative. They include but are not limited to:
Our team is equipped to work both individuals and families in the areas of depression, anxiety, burnout, emotional awareness and regulation, transition, spirituality and many others!
I’m the founder of LCT Counselling. I am certified in CBT, EMDR, Focusing, Theraplay and Grief and Bereavement care. I am also a supervisor (CRPO). I spend most of my time teaching and am passionate about training and supporting therapists in the personal and professional development. I am in the final stages of my doctorate focusing on the topics of spiritual formation, story, imagination, burnout and wholistic personhood. When I’m not working in this field, you will find me in the river fly fishing, training for a marathon or doing anything else outside like golfing, mountain biking, hiking or birding (yes… birding!!).
My specific areas of interest are with individuals’ adults and teens around areas of transition, resilience, and character development. I take a person-centered approach that embraces curiosity and compassion. I firmly believe in meeting my clients where they are on their journey and providing a safe space for exploration and growth where people of all backgrounds are welcome. It is my goal that clients feel seen, heard, valued, and supported. I work together with clients to capitalize on their inherent strengths and skills, and to cultivate greater feelings of connection, authenticity, understanding, curiosity, compassion, and mindfulness in their lives.
As a dedicated psychotherapist, I am passionate about supporting individuals through life’s challenges, and enjoy working with both adults and children and youth. My approach is rooted in creating a warm and approachable space, fostering a safe environment where clients can explore openly without judgment. I look forward to joining you on your journey to wellness, as I listen to your unique story, develop goals alongside you, and celebrate change with you.
Beyond my professional life, I am a mother of four energetic children. During the summer months, you’ll often find me close to the water at my cottage on Manitoulin Island, where I was born and raised. Nature holds a special place in my heart, and I enjoy going for walks with my dog along the nearby trails. In my free time, I cherish catching up with friends over a good cup of coffee.
